I got my FIRST tattoo!
The thought of getting one has come and gone since I turned 18! & I have gotten close on several occasions, the last one being last year when we were in Las Vegas for my birthday but the guy must have thought we were born yesterday and tried to charge us $300 for the same tattoo above that I paid WAY LESS for! Anyway yesterday the husband & I were talking about both getting one for millionth time (he has 5 already) & we decided we had enough of the chit chat and we headed to the Latin Skulls where he got all of his, not exactly a wholesome place but I didn't expect it to be! Anyway 30 minutes after our arrival I was in the chair! I couldn't believe I was actually going through with it, especially after all the terrible things my mom said to me shortly before via text when I broke the news to her. After a few tears over her I got over it put on my big girl panties and took a DEEP breath & DID IT! Yes it hurt! But it was so very worth it. I love love love love it! I cannot stop looking at it & I am feeling a lil bada** about it! =D
Of course with getting a tattoo there are mixed reactions some people love it and some people frown upon it whether they say it or not I can tell! But guess what!? I DO NOT CARE! Take a look at your life and then come talk to me about mine (defensive much?) I am still the same person I was before the tattoo except now I know I can take a needle hacking into my skin! ha.
Sorry Mom! (who might I add has a tattoo too!)
Do any of you have tattoos!? Did anyone disown you!? Any negative reactions!? Do tell.

cute tat!! I've always wanted one on my wrist too! I have a small pink flower on the back of my neck that I got a few years back over spring break. my mom wasn't too crazy about it either! haha!
That tattoo is cute!!! Im sorry about your Mom... But if she loves you she will get over it. She will come through eventually.
I don't have a tattoo either but I've always wanted one. Yours is not something you'd regret... yours is something that would mean a lot the rest of your life, so I definitely approve!! Not that it should matter. I just don't like it when people put them tattoos on their heads.

I have 2, getting a third one soon. My dad was less than impressed with me getting them, but hey I'm an adult and got them when I was an adult and he can't do anything about it.
For your mom to disown you and she has one herself, is kind of ridiculous! I know people are against them, but that doesn't make getting a tattoo bad! Getting one doesn't make you a different person!

First of all...your mom is just being a mom...and I'm sure you understand that. I know its not right for her to give you a hard time since she already has one herself. Maybe she has regret about her tattoo?
I would like to get some done too. I actually have 4 picked out. 2 for my wrist and one for my back and the other for my ankle. So many things stop me. First I have CT so if I ever needed surgery on my wrist...they just wouldn't look good. Then I figure I'm not exactly sure how my kid(s) would react if I had them done. My mom had got my dad's name on her back..alittle below her neck about a month or so before my wedding. I told her that she needed to wear her hair down so it wouldn't show. My last thing was that I didn't want my grandkids to try and stretch out my wrinkled skin to try and figure out what it was. I don't know...maybe one day when I'm drunk who knows what I will end up with!

I have 4 and I was disowned with the first 2 but I think because they were visible I was forgiven then I had a miscarriage and decided to get the one on my wrist much like yours and of course everyone and their mom had an opinion I still feel today when I meet people and go for the shake they stare at my wrist NOT COOL. There are far worst things to get disowned for and I've always said if they are going to judge me based off what is on my body then they probably aren't the type of people I want to associate with : love the tattoo btw
I think its cute! My Mom would probably react the same way, but hopefully its a small enough thing that the disownment will wear off over time!
Tell Mom to lighten up. You could be doing drugs or something awful! :-)

In response to what you said on my tat, I look at my newest tat on my arm EVERY DAY and love it more and more. I actually can't wait to get another one! If someone wants to judge me based on my tattoos then they probably aren't someone I want to know. Last I checked I want people to get to know ME, not judge me based on how I look.
