In elementary it was Elena & Hayley, after we graduated they both went to different middle schools
In Middle school it was Melissa & Patricia, after we graduated they both went to different high schools
In high school it was (my forever bestie) Natalie & May, a few years after graduation May and I just grew apart and Natalie STILL is, as noted above, the bestest friend I could ever want!

While I love love love my bestie to pieces, if I am being honest here, our lives are pretty different she's single, lives a good 45 minutes away, works 2 jobs, & has tons of family and friends to keep up with...I on the other hand am married, live a good 45 minutes away, have one job and a cat haha. But seriously, while we do have some form of communication daily, we hardly get to see each other.
I have 2 good friends here, but one has a child and the other is younger than me and is in a different phase of life....
Anyway my point is when my husband & I, or just me don't want to go to a bar, or talk about poop color and abc's (for the record I NEVER want to lol), or drive a little distance etc etc it's just us, and while that's fine 90 % of the time there's other times we just want to hang out with another couple like us.
Which leads me finally to the ACTUAL point of my post! While I was doing laundry last night, a lady there struck up a conversation with me! & she like me, was married, no kids & lived a few minutes away! We chatted for a while and she even gave me her last quarter because my comforter would NOT dry, but after all of that I just said BYE!
Bye possible couple friends! lol
I had NO idea what to do! Do I say here's my blog?! Here's my #? I just felt awkward....
Maybe I'll see her there again & then what!? sigh.

I totally feel you on this. I'm in a LDR so when I'm with him (5500 miles away!!) I have NO friends and when I talk to someone cool at a store or watever I dont know how to be like "i need friends. please be my friend" lol. I need help! lol

How about advice from an old lady (45 on 2/7)! I have a large family but they live 6 hours from me. We have lived "here" for about 11 years and I still encounter your dilemma every so often. When I was younger I would have never given my number or name to a stranger but as I have gotten older I realize that you can never have too many friends and what will it hurt to just say, "hey, maybe we should get together for lunch sometime, let me give you my number and if your interested give me a call!" 9 times out of 10 the other girl is probably thinking the same thing you are but too afraid to ask! I've been in this same situation a million times and always think man wasn't it so much easier to make friends when we were kids ... you know wanna share my crayons and then bffs forever right. I think she probably walked away with the same thoughts so next time your there and she is too - I would just strike up another conversation and then be like oh by the way here's my # if you ever want to hang out you know without laundry. Maybe coffee? I'm sure she'll be just as happy and say YES! Good luck - cheers to a potentially new bff! Keep us posted!

I'm with you! Its very hard. I think you should see if you can find any friends online that are local. I joined a meet up group and found a friend out it. I also went on eventbrite and attended social media events that I found interesting no friends to hang out with but def. some budding friendships. Be open and next time you spark a convo with someone give them your business card whats the worst that could happen right? Best of luck!
It's definitely hard meeting people to be friends with the older we are! I saw next time be like hey here's my number text me some time if you'd like to hang out or just chat
